The Department of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery; Prosthodontics and Special Dental Care is housed in the Utrecht University Hospital and in the Stratenum.
The clinic is mainly located in the University
Hospital Utrecht (see image), this academical hospital, with its near 1000 beds and new
architecture, is located at the eastern corner of the campus of Utrecht University.
Most research is done at the building of the faculty of Medicine which is connected to
a wing of the University Hospital Utrecht.
The University Hospital is located on the Campus (campusmap) of the Utrecht University, 6 km
east of Utrecht City (citymap).
You can reach the Campus easily by public transportation.
From Schiphol Airport by train
To Utrecht Central Station about 40 minutes, about Dfl. 25,-. Change trains in
Amsterdam-Duivendrecht, from which there are direct express trains (called "InterCity
trains") to Utrecht. The Dutch
Railways provide all information on timetables, fares, maps etc.
By bus from Utrecht Central train station
From Utrecht Central Station take line 12 or 11, both have as end of their course the
Utrecht University Hospital (after about 20 minutes). Line 11 passes through the inner
city, line 12 takes the route south of the city. Service is during rush hours about every
4 minutes, rest of the day every 10-15 minutes (
From Schiphol Airport by car
About 60 km freeway, 40 min. Follow the signs Utrecht when exiting Schiphol Airport,
take freeway A2 to Utrecht and take a left turn eastbound on freeway A12 at junction
"Oudenrijn", just South-West of Utrecht, following signs Arnhem. After about 4
km, take a left turn again at junction "Lunetten" to freeway A27, and get off
after about 3 km at the sign "Academisch Ziekenhuis" which directs you to the
faculty of Medicine located in near the University hospital, parking space available but
